Effective June 20, 2026
Please read this notice before you buy, install, or use our products.
Diesel LEDs (LED Illuminations LLC) designs and sells high-performance aftermarket vehicle lighting. Some of our products — in particular our LED headlight and other forward-lighting bulbs — are sold for off-road, racing, and show use only. This notice explains what that means and what you are responsible for.
LED bulbs that replace the halogen bulbs in a factory headlight housing are not certified to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108 (FMVSS 108). Under the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) interpretation of that standard, no LED replaceable light source is approved for use in a replaceable-bulb (halogen) headlamp. For that reason, our LED forward-lighting bulbs are not legal for headlight use on vehicles driven on public roads, and we sell them for off-road, racing, and show use only. These bulbs can also produce glare or beam patterns that are unsafe or illegal on public roads.
“Off-road use only” applies to vehicles that are never operated on public streets or highways — for example, dedicated race, show, or trail vehicles. A vehicle that is registered, plated, insured for road use, or driven on public roads at all does not qualify as an off-road-only vehicle. You are responsible for determining whether a product is legal for your vehicle and your intended use.
This notice applies most directly to our LED headlight and forward-lighting bulbs. Other products we sell — such as reverse, interior, cargo, and marker lighting — are subject to their own legal requirements, which vary by state, province, and country. Whatever you buy, you are responsible for following the laws that apply to your vehicle and its lighting.
Vehicle-lighting laws differ by location and change over time. As the buyer and installer, it is your responsibility to know and follow all federal, state, provincial, and local laws that apply to your vehicle, and to confirm that a product is legal before using it on a public road. We cannot give legal advice about your specific vehicle or location.
By purchasing, installing, or using our products, you accept full responsibility for how they are used. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Diesel LEDs (LED Illuminations LLC) is not responsible for any fines, penalties, citations, failed inspections, insurance or registration consequences, property damage, injury, or other loss arising from use of our products on public roads or contrary to this notice or applicable law. Installing aftermarket parts may also affect your vehicle manufacturer’s warranty.
If you are located outside the U.S., including in Canada, your own national, provincial, and local lighting and import laws apply. Our products may not be legal for on-road use where you live, and you are responsible for compliance.
By purchasing from Diesel LEDs, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Off-Road Compliance Notice, that certain products are sold for off-road, racing, or show use only, and that you assume all responsibility for their legal and safe use.
